Bitcoin Surges as Strategy Buys Again

Bitcoin Rises as Strategy Returns to Buying

Crypto Market Starts September on a Stronger Note

Bitcoin and several major cryptocurrencies moved higher as the new week began, with renewed buying activity from large investors helping improve market sentiment.

Bitcoin climbed 1.22% over the previous 24 hours to $78,538.16, while Ethereum gained 2.13% to $2,467.17. XRP advanced 2.19% to $1.38, Solana added 1.50% to $103.17, and Dogecoin increased 1.44% to $0.08301.

Bitcoin Trading Volume Jumps

Bitcoin reached an intraday peak of $79,247 as trading activity accelerated. Its trading volume increased by roughly 43%, indicating stronger participation from market traders.

The broader cryptocurrency market also remained positive, with Ethereum, XRP and Dogecoin all holding gains during the session.

Strategy Ends Its Buying Pause

One of the main catalysts behind the move was Strategy Inc.'s latest Bitcoin purchase. The company acquired approximately $370 million worth of BTC, bringing an end to a two-month period without new purchases.

The buying activity provided additional support for Bitcoin at a time when investors were closely watching whether institutional demand would return.

Bitcoin Posts Strong August Performance

Bitcoin was heading toward one of its strongest August performances, with its monthly gain reaching 24.82% at the time of reporting.

At the same time, more than $150 million in cryptocurrency positions were liquidated during the previous 24 hours. Around $100 million of those liquidations came from traders betting on further price declines.

H6 — Open Interest Continues to Increase

Bitcoin's open interest rose 2.60% over the same 24-hour period as its spot price advanced.

Data also showed that Binance's largest long traders remained positioned for further gains, although their exposure to long positions had fallen considerably in recent days.

Arbitrum Leads the Biggest Gainers

Among cryptocurrencies with market capitalizations above $100 million, Arbitrum recorded the strongest 24-hour performance, gaining 38.73% to reach $0.1175.

Pons followed with a 33.02% increase to $0.4165, while Seeker rose 23.98% to $0.03065.

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization reached approximately $2.65 trillion, representing a 1.05% increase compared with the previous day.

Stock Market Moves Lower Amid Iran Tensions

While cryptocurrencies advanced, U.S. equities began the week under pressure.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 374.09 points, or 0.7%, finishing at 53,185.9. The S&P 500 declined 0.33% to 7,686.14, while the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.12% and ended at 26,370.89.

Renewed military tensions involving the United States and Iran over the weekend contributed to market uncertainty and pushed oil prices higher. The United States Oil Fund, which tracks West Texas Intermediate crude, gained 3.08%.

Analysts Debate Bitcoin's Next Move

Michael Terpin, CEO of Transform Ventures and author of Bitcoin Supercycle, described the latest Bitcoin advance as an early sign that the market may be entering a prolonged path toward the next major bull cycle.

Terpin maintained a positive outlook on Bitcoin but emphasized that investors do not need to deploy all of their available capital immediately. Instead, he suggested gradually building exposure through dollar-cost averaging.

He also said that, even if Bitcoin experiences a correction, he does not currently expect the cryptocurrency to fall below the $70,000 level.

Bitcoin Could Target $82,700 and $90,000

Cryptocurrency analyst and trader Michaël van de Poppe also expressed confidence in Bitcoin's current structure.

According to his view, Bitcoin appears well positioned for an upside breakout. He identified approximately $82,700 as an initial target, with the possibility of a further move toward $90,000 if upward momentum remains intact.

For now, traders are watching whether Bitcoin can maintain its recent strength and turn the latest recovery into a sustained advance.
