Utilizing Multi-Chart Layouts in Your Analysis

The multi-chart mode is a valuable feature of TradingView Supercharts that helps you enhance your analysis by viewing multiple charts simultaneously within a single workspace. In this guide, we will explore how to activate and control multi-chart layouts.

• Activating and controlling multiple charts

• Synchronizing charts

Activating and controlling multiple charts

This feature can be turned on through the Layout setup menu.

The great aspect is that regardless of how many charts you'd like to view, you can effortlessly manage each to ensure you don't overlook any activity. Each chart in your layout includes buttons for scrolling and zooming. To enlarge a specific chart, simply click the 'Maximize chart' button, press Alt+Enter, or hold Alt and click on the chart.

To switch between charts in a multi-chart layout, simply press the Tab key. You can find more information about available keyboard shortcuts here.

**Charts synchronization**

When selecting multiple charts, all indicators and strategies from the initial chart will be applied to the additional charts. However, chart-specific settings from the original chart won't carry over, as these are linked to each individual chart. You can, however, synchronize some basic settings such as interval, symbol, and others through the Layout setup menu.

Drawing objects work differently: they are only associated with a single symbol. If you change the symbol within the same layout, the drawings will be removed. Nevertheless, you have the option to synchronize drawings across multiple layouts or within a single layout. To do this, locate the drawings synchronization button in the left toolbar's drawings panel—represented by one of two icons.

If this feature is disabled, drawings are stored locally, meaning they will only be visible on the specific symbol and chart within that particular layout.

• Enabling "Sync drawings in layout" will ensure drawings are displayed on every new chart of the same symbol within that layout.

• Enabling "Sync drawings globally" will save your drawings across all layouts, so they appear on every new chart of the same symbol, regardless of the layout.

If you disable global synchronization, all drawings associated with that symbol across all other layouts will be removed.

For example, if you add drawings to a chart displaying the TSLA symbol and then switch the symbol to NVDA, those drawings will disappear. Returning to TSLA will restore the previous drawings.

When global sync is enabled, creating a new layout and selecting the TSLA symbol there will retain the drawings made for TSLA on the previous chart, even across different layouts.

How do I sync charts within my layout?

To synchronize all charts in your multi-chart layout, click the "Select Layout" button on the main toolbar and choose which elements to synchronize. Through this menu, you can synchronize various chart components such as symbol, crosshair, interval, time, and date range. For instance, if you want both charts to display the same symbol, select "Symbol."

To allow drawing objects to synchronize, activate the Multichart Mode in the Select Layout menu.

Please enable the synchronization of drawing objects by clicking the button located on the left panel.

Keep in mind that drawings can only be synchronized on charts that display the same symbol. Additionally, you can synchronize the symbol and interval settings between charts individually by adding them to different groups. To do this, click on the Symbol/interval chart syncing icon in the Status line or the Series context menu of the chart you want to include in a group, then select one of the emojis from the list. All charts marked with the same emoji will be synchronized. To remove a chart from a group, just uncheck the corresponding emoji.

If you want to resize a layout chart, simply drag one of its sides. Double-clicking on any chart border will reset it to its default size.

You can also resize multiple charts simultaneously by holding down the Shift key while dragging.

On a mobile device, to change a chart's size, tap the border once to select it, then drag to resize.

A double tap on any border will revert the charts to their default dimensions.
