Ethereum Gains Momentum as Network Activity Expands

Ethereum has moved above the $2,600 mark at the same time that large holders are becoming more active and the number of non-empty wallets on the network has reached a new high.

According to data from Santiment, Ethereum now has more than 207 million addresses holding a balance. The figure points to continued growth in the network’s user and holder base despite previous periods of weaker market activity.

More ETH Moves Into Staking

Staking remains another major part of Ethereum’s current network activity. More than 40 million ETH are now locked in staking, meaning a significant portion of the circulating supply is being used to help secure the network.

Ethereum also continues to dominate the decentralized finance sector, with its total value locked standing at close to $50 billion.

Transaction Fees Fall Sharply

At the same time, Ethereum transaction costs have dropped considerably. Average fees are now below $0.10, representing a decline of more than 85% from this year’s peak.

Lower transaction costs could make activity on the network more accessible, particularly for users and applications that depend on frequent transactions.

Technical Levels Draw Attention

From a technical perspective, Ethereum’s ability to remain above the $2,550 resistance level on the weekly chart could open the way toward the $2,900–$3,000 area.

Some market analysts also maintain optimistic long-term expectations for ETH. Analyst Ted Pillows has argued that Ethereum still has room to catch up with the growth of the global money supply and has maintained a long-term target of $10,000 by 2029.

What Could Shape Ethereum’s Next Move?

The combination of renewed whale activity, record wallet numbers, strong staking participation and Ethereum’s continued position in DeFi is drawing attention to the asset’s next phase.

For traders and investors, the key factors to watch include the $2,550 technical level, whale activity, staking flows, transaction fees and broader conditions across the cryptocurrency market.
